Yikes! August is Over...

I can't believe August is ending today. Where did the time go?

So, what is everyone else up to? I've cried on your shoulders (a lot) lately, now it's your turn. What projects are you working on? What writing problems have you run into? And, if you're not a writer, what's life doing to you right now?

My personal life has been difficult lately. I'd love to hear about your problems, it'll make my problems sound less difficult.

Anyway, sorry I haven't been around much this month. Writing has been taking a backseat to my personal life. I'm always apologizing for that, but I wanted to get on here and tell you I'M NOT DEAD, I swear. Just hibernating, or licking my wounds, if you like.

Thanks so much for all those who take the time to read this, and holler at me with any news you may have on YOUR problems, I'd love to do an article with some ideas on how to fix 'em.

Writing quote of the day:

"Most things good for writing are bad for life. “May your life be not very good material” is a blessing I offer students." —Lorrie Moore

Have a great day and happy writing!

  1. No major problems for me at the moment other than getting used to life in a new city with my family a twelve hour drive away.

You don't need to apologize if you have to take care of your personal life. I'm sorry if things aren't going well for you right now.

I am in the middle of writing something. It's a short story that has refused to stay short. I think it has a YA feel to it, different from the three full length ones I've written before it. My only problem was that it was meant for NaNoWriMo but the inspiration came too early :)

  3. My problems? Ahahaha! (Funny, I mentioned almost the same thing on another blog:) Girl, I signed up to a dating website because I was tired of not being able to find a decent guy (but in my defence I was talked into it by a friend) and things got only worse from there! You wouldn't know the losers I've had to deal with!

Then, some guy I dated a couple of weeks ago texted me today, asking if I wanted to meet up for a glass of wine and a massage! Not asking me for a normal date, nooo, a SEX-date. Right.

I dropped my sister off in England last weekend and I now possess the knowledge that I really suck at goodbyes; in fact, that I'm just as bad at them as my mother is, which is NOT something to be proud of (Spanish emotions). And on top of that, I really miss her too!

I tried to quit smoking but gave in to the craving and bought a pack of cigs anyway, which means I had to start quitting all over again. Which I did. So far I'm managing okay, but I could go on and on but what it comes down to is that all together I'm a sad, sad person.

  4. No worries. Personal life always comes first. Here is a problem for you. At a party my best friend's boyfriend kissed me and admitted to having cheated on her before. When I told her, he convinced her and most of my friends, that I was lying about it because I am "mentally unstable". Now none of my best friends talk to me any more.

  6. Nice writing. They aren't problems, they are challenges. The more skillful we get and the better our outlook the better things will be.
